No shadow without light during April 2020: I might be disabled thanks to my shoulder injury, but the weather is in favour for my sunup project. 27 out of 30 days start with a motley assortment of colours and April 19 is no exception to this rule.

Detecting more of the Ostpark: They built a hill with a view. For no other purpose than having that view. There is not much to be seen, but still – not the worst place to be around sunrise, even better when part of the early morning run.

Detecting new areas in my surrounding, such as: Ostpark. Very urban.

Another run, another sun(rise). Gives you energy for the day!

Another gap (April 13 with no wide range of splendid pictures) brings us to April 14: all silent, only parked cars indicate that people might be around. The lake lies abandoned,  the air is cold and the wind is cloudy. And then, tiny rays of light shine trhough.

Isar. Munich. Did I mention that it has such a wonderful flair around sunrise that I went there twice during April 2020??

Isar. The river dividing Munich into East and West, cutting a diagonal into the city map. And so charming around 6 a.m. that I had to go there twice in April.

Retrospective on a cloudless sunrise on April 10, 2020. An empty sky requires different timing: Take pictures of the preferred spot of the day 15-20 minutes before the sun crosses the horizon line. Typical colours are blue and velvet / pale pink (cloudless, early) compared to vibrant pink and orange (directly after sunup with the right portion of reflecting clouds). I definitely built up non-economic knowledge.

April 9 with a guiding moon during my early morning run. Ever since, the melody of Sinatra’s “Fly me to the Moon” keeps on repeating itself in my head.
